The immaculate, white wall of the sanatorium,
the fleas, the bugs, the absence of rugs,
the lack of sounds,
or the rat-a-tat-tat,
constantly penetrating
the enclosure of the lonely,
the peace of the one and only.
In the garden of solitude,
Where her and his only companions
are fleeting thoughts and sentient beings,
Loneliness becomes an art
and the vacant space
enough to fill the heart.
Is she lonely?
Is he alone?
They might be,
but vibrate in silence.
Hush…
For it is the art of loneliness!
Wow, this expressed the soul of loneliness in such a compelling way. Beautifully done!

I’m thinking the art is of solitude and not loneliness. Loneliness is suffering – oui?

I wanted it to be loneliness, because it is first perceived as suffering and then it transforms in solitude.

Thanks a lot! We all experience loneliness in life as it is hard to find people that deeply understand the unicity of our souls.

I think the company of nature does take away the side of loneliness we dislike.
Thank you.

Indeed, nature is an amazing escape from loneliness or an oasis of self-discovery. I guess that is why many sanatoriums or hospitals have gardens, that offer, at least, a provisional getaway.
